StormStock releases 35mm collection on 4K

Spectacular storms shot on Super 35mm film are now available from StormStock on 4K.

Founded in 1993 by filmmaker Martin Lisius, Prairie Pictures’ StormStock has become the “go to” source for TV and film producers, and advertising agencies needing premium weather content. To up their game, the StormStock team pulled 35mm content shot by Lisius during the 1998 – 2008 period and transferred it to 4K this summer. Highlights include Hurricane Katrina and other hurricanes, storm surge, stormy skies, massive thunderstorms dramatic lightning and tornadoes.

Colorlab of Rockville, Maryland performed the transfer, while Lisius and veteran colorist Steve Franko of Frankocolor in Dallas, Texas, tackled the color work for the project.

The new content is available now for licensing exclusively through StormStock.
