StormStock is a collection of high-end weather and climate footage produced by the production team at Prairie Pictures in Texas. Our content is licensed for use in movies, TV shows and documentaries.

What stock footage topics can I find at StormStock?

The StormStock team shoots and licenses footage of hurricanes, lightning, big storms, tornadoes, climate change, flooding and rain, blizzards, volcanoes, prairie and other natural history topics.

What unique footage does StormStock offer?

StormStock began shooting 4K in 2014, and 16K in 2018 which has allowed them to established an extensive collection of high-resolution footage during that time. StormStock is also the only source in the world to offer Hurricane Katrina making landfall on 4K (Super 35mm film to 4K video).

What video formats does StormStock shoot on?

StormStock currently shoots 4K, 6K, 8K and 16K video formats. Archived content formats include SD, HD and Super 35mm film.

Is 16K video real?

Yes. Prairie Pictures’ producer and StormStock founder Martin Lisius developed a 16K video camera system in 2018. StormStock is the first stock footage source in the world to offer 16K video content.

How can I view and sample preview clips from StormStock?

Preview clips can be downloaded from the StormStock web site. They are sorted by topic category. In addition, the StormStock Team can prepare and send a custom, curated batch of clips anytime, upon request.

How do I order full-resolution master clips from StormStock?

To order master clips, submit the master footage order form. Once submitted, an invoice will be sent to the client to pay (new accounts), followed by the master clips and license.
