So, it’s no surprise that the bulk of the cameras used by its StormStock team are on the Netflix approved list including RED and Sony cinema units. “Capturing high-end weather and climate content is very time consuming and expensive, and we may have only one chance to do it, so we decided in the 1990’s to shoot only with the very best technology of the time,” said StormStock cinematographer and founder Martin Lisius. “Currently, the bulk of our 4K and 6K work is shot with RED cameras including the DSMC models and the Komodo, as well as the Sony FS7 which is still a viable option, especially when paired with a quality lens.”
